ITD-HUST Lab accompanies PPC in training AI applications in monitoring and diagnosing industrial equipment

Recently, Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Trong Du - Head of the Technical Diagnosis research group, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, participated in teaching and providing professional guidance in the training course "Smart monitoring based on artificial intelligence methods to detect abnormalities, diagnose damage and maintain industrial systems" organized by Pha Lai Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (PPC) in collaboration with the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Research and Application, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In the program, Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Trong Du guides students on digital signal processing methods in the time and frequency domains, especially feature extraction techniques for monitoring and diagnosing equipment conditions.

In addition, the training program is also linked to many research and application directions of ITD Lab, from detecting abnormalities, diagnosing damage to industrial equipment to processing and analyzing signals in the time domain and frequency domain to extract features for technical diagnosis. Students will also be exposed to Machine Learning methods for error classification and identification, SHAP techniques to interpret the results of AI models, as well as RAG and chatbots to support historical lookup and maintenance information. Content on vibration measurement and dynamic balancing is also included in the program, helping to connect modern AI methods with traditional equipment diagnostic techniques in industrial practice.

Students not only access foundational knowledge but also directly practice methods of data analysis, diagnosis and application of AI in situations associated with real production practices.

At the end of the training course, 20/20 students met the requirements and were granted certificates, including students with Excellent results.
